Dr. Doreen Sams, PhD
An Associate Professor of Marketing in the Marketing Department of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business at Georgia College and State University, Dr. Sams is a graduate-level professor, who teaches Advanced Marketing Theory and Applications, Business Ethics and Global Issues, and International Business at the graduate level. Dr. Sams received her Ph.D. in Marketing from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2005. Dr. Sams held visiting professor and instructor positions at the University of South Florida, Lakeland, St. Petersburg and Tampa campuses before joining Georgia College and State University.
Dr. Sams emphasizes synergy and balance between research and teaching. Dr. Sams is a 2012 nominee for the Aspen Institute Faculty Pioneer Award in Sustainability. Two of Dr. Sams’ main interests are sustainable and not-for-profits.
Shades of Green, of Georgia College, is a sustainability initiative begun by Dr. Doreen (Dee) Sams, Associate Marketing Professor, assisted by Gerri McCord, Career Advisor in the College of Business; and JaLynn Hudnall, Ravenwood Forest Consulting.
