Georgia College Shades of Green 2011
Shades of Green, of Georgia College, is a sustainability initiative begun by Dr. Doreen (Dee) Sams, Associate Marketing Professor, assisted by Gerri McCord, Career Advisor in the College of Business; and JaLynn Hudnall, Ravenwood Forest Consulting.
"Yesterday's solutions are today's problems, and, today's opportunities!"
When Dr. Dee Sams invited Carl Perazzola, Deputy Chief of the Corrosion Prevention arm of the US Air Force, to her classroom to speak on sustainability in 2008 he was an instant hit. Dr. Sams invited Carl back the next semester where, Monica Ospina from Seneca College in Canada joined him through an Internet feed.
From these early beginnings, JaLynn Hudnall of Ravenwood Forest Consulting and Gerri McCord of the J. Whitney Bunting College of Business teamed up with Dr. Sams to create one day panels and one day panels expanded to a Week of Shades of Green beginning on September 30, 2011 through October 7, 2011. Events will be held in both Milledgeville and Macon with guests coming to speak from as far away as California and Michigan.
